Rao), who works as an Auditor for a big estate. The name of the
estate is Nandanavanam, which is located at a distance of 120
Km from the city. Benerjee conspires to grab the property from
the estate owners (Talluri Rameswari and family) and deploys Amar
to help him. The story starts with how Benerjee uses Amar for
his mission. Rest of the story has to be watched strictly on screen.
Performances
Ajay Varma:
One would wonder to know that he debuted with this film. His performance
is not less than any experienced actor who is skilled in enacting
the role with right expressions and apt histrionics.
Manasa:
She played well with her wide expressive eyes. Although a debutant
she gave out her best.
Kota Sreenivasa Rao:
There’s lot and great to tell about his characterization
and performance. He proved to be the right choice for the role
that has to show intelligent villainy.
Baby Lekhita:
The girl deserves a mention for her cute appearance on screen.
She has shown her ease in spelling out all the expressions.
Others:
Naresh, Talluri Rameshwari, Gowtamraju, Surekha Vani, Kamal, Giridhar,
Prabhu, Uma, Sivaram & Surya are adequate in their respective
roles.
Music:
Vijay Kurakula’s music proved to be the heart of the film
that boosted up the adrenaline of audiences. The music sounds
hysterical, rises palpitation and keeps the audiences stick on
to the silver screen through out. Although there are no songs
in the film, a few situational prayer lines go along with the
theme with back ground music.
Camera:
PG Vinda’s cinematography (Grahanam fame) is the backbone
of the film. Every frame in the film speaks high about his talent.
This is one of the best camera works in recent times.
Neelakanta:
He banged his talent once again as an effective Story, dialogue
and screenplay writer and efficient director. Production values
also sound good and sufficient on screen. He deserves the screenplay
award once again with this film.
Analysis:
It’s a wonderful mass hypnotism. It’s a shrewd game
with fantastic screenplay. Breath taking, spellbinding, captivating,
enthralling and any other similar adjective can be applied to
Nandanavanam 120 Km. The film promises a tight hangover for a
few hours after coming out from the Theater. The standards of
the background score and cinematography speak very high about
Telugu film in International scenario. One would recall Hitchcock
and Manoj Night Shyamalan while watching the film. The concluding
twist in the story recalls O. Henry way. The subsequent scene
or theme cannot be assumed in the film. Audiences tend to make
assumptions but all those suppositions prove wrong. What one watches
on the screen is different from what he actually watches. ‘Something
else’ runs in the ulterior layer of the film, which cannot
be visualized on screen until climax. First half of the film concludes
with tension and anxiety while the second half runs with suspense,
emotion, thrill and twists. Only the climax answers all the dubious
thoughts of audiences. One cannot take his sight from the screen
through out the film. The film runs well in all the centers with
the emotional suspense thrill involved in it. It is certainly
different from routine.
To sum up, Nanandanavam 120 Km is a must watch
film to float in the emotional suspense thrill. The film can entertain
youth, families, ladies and masses collectively. The theme narrated
on the screen is highly convincing with logic in every scene.
